Laura
Heyne received her B.A. in English
from Concordia University in Irvine, California in 2005. She spent her first
year out of college teaching ninth, tenth, and twelfth grade English classes
at Saddleback Valley Christian Schools in San Juan Capistrano, California.
She has also completed courses at the University of California, Riverside
in AP Vertical Training and attended seminars at the annual ACSI Convention.
It was during her experience of teaching in a classroom that Laura recognized
a need for students to receive extra help in writing, literary analysis,
and reading skills. The most frustrating realizations within her classroom
were that she could not individually work with the students that need extra
help without neglecting the rest of the class. Sometimes students need personal
attention, especially with their writing, because of a teacher going too
fast, not explaining properly, or the student is tired and unable to pay
attention. Writing is an essential tool needed for college as well as the
rest of life. It is in response to her classroom experience and a deep love
for children that Laura has created a formula for writing an essay that
most every student understands and is able to utilize. |
